Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cups shortening
1 stick oleo
4 tbl cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs beaten slightly
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
Icing:
1 stick oleo
4 tbl cocoa
4 tbl milk (1/3 cup)
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Optional: 1 cup of pecans &/or coconut
Preparation
Sift flour & sugar In saucepan bring shortening, oleo, cocoa and water to a boil. Pour over flour & sugar. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Batter will be thin.
Pour in greased & floured 11 x 16 pan. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.
Begin icing 10 min before cake is done. Pour over cake while still hot.
