Ingredients
1 1/2 cups dark chocolate cocoa powder
3 cups flour
3 cups sugar
1 tbsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 cups warm water
3/4 cups veg. oil
2 tsp vanilla
Frosting:
1 cup butter
2/3 cup boiling water
1 cup dark chocolate cocoa powder
8 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Add eggs, vanilla, water, oil, and buttermilk. Mix until well combined.
Bake 20 minutes.
Frosting:
Combine all ingredients and mix on low for 30 seconds. Increase to medium and beat for 1 minute until smooth.
Let cool 15-20 minutes before piping.
