Ingredients

6 ounces softened cream cheese

1/2 cup & 4 tablespoon softened

butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

6 1/2 cups powered sugar

1/3 cup room temperature milk

4 ounces unsweetened baking

chocolate

3 large eggs

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/4 cup milk

Preparation

  • Cream together: cream cheese, 1/2 cup butter, and vanilla, till well mixed. Blend in chocolate.
  • Remove 2 cups mixture for frosting. Cover and refrigerate.
  • To remaining mixture add 4 tablespoons butter and blend. Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each additiion.
  • Sift remaining dry ingredients. Add them to the creamed mixture alternating with remaining milk.
  • Put the mixture into 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans and Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or till cake tester comes out clean.
  • Cool in pans on racks 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completly.
  • Take frosting out and keep at room temperature 15 minutes before frosting cake.
