Ingredients
Brownie layer
1 cup unsalted butter
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 3/4 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup unbleached flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries drained
Cream layer
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup whipping cream
1/8 cup chopped maraschino cherries drained
2 tsp. cherry juice
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Glaze
2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
1 tbsp. unsalted butter
2 tsp. cherry juice from the jar
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Grease and flour 13x9 pan Make brownie layer In a small sauce pan melt the 1 cup butter and 4 oz.of unsweetened chocolate. Set aside In a mixing bowl place the 1 3/4 cup sugar, add the chocolate butter mixture and combined till smooth. Add the eggs one at a time till combined and smooth In another bowl mix the 1 cup flour with the 1/2 tsp. salt. Then stir the flour mixture into the chocolate mixture. Then stir in the walnuts and the 1/2 cup chopped cherries. Place mixture and spread out evenly in the pan Bake for 25 to 30 minutes Remove and cool on wire rack Meanwhile make the cream layer In a saucepan brown the 1/2 cup butter slightly Transfer to a mixing bowland gradually add the powdered sugar till combined. Keep mixing and add the whipping cream, 1/8 cup chopped cherries and the cherry juice. Beat till smooth and creamy Spread mixture over the cooled brownie layer Make the glaze by melting the 1 tbsp. butter with the 2 oz of semi sweet chocolate till smooth Drizzle over the cream layer in an abstract ,random pattern. Cut in to squares and serve
