Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature

1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl.
  3. Beat butter in large bowl until fluffy.
  4. Beat in both sugars, then eggs, 1 at a time, then vanilla extract.
  5. Add in flour mixture.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
  8. Bake cookies 8 minutes.
