Ingredients
Cake:
2/3 C Butter
1 C semi-sweet chocolate
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 C sugar
1 1/2 C all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C chopped walnuts
Frosting (best when doubled):
2 C chilled whipping cream
1/4 C powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2/3+ C Little Bits semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Cake: *Preheat oven to 350 F *Line jelly roll pan with waxed paper; grease. *Heat butter and semi-sweet chocolate in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat. *Stir eggs and vanilla into chocolate mix. *Add sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Stir until smooth. Mix in walnuts. *Spread batter evenly in pan. Bake 15 to 25 minutes until soft. Do NOT overcook. *Cool 10 minutes in pan. Invert onto rack and remove waxed paper; cool completely.
Frosting: *Beat cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in chilled bowl until stiff. *Stir in Little Bits chips
Assembly: *Cut cake into 4 equal pieces. *Place one piece on serving plate and top with frosting. *Layer second piece on top of first and top with frosting. Repeat with all pieces. *Frost top and sides of cake with frosting. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
