Ingredients
1/2 c. oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. salt
2 eggs
2 T. unsweetened cocoa
2 c. flour
1 1/2 t. baking soda
2 c. applesauce
Preparation
Mix dry ingredients. Add oil, eggs adn applesauce and beat well. Pour into greased 15x9x2 inch glass pyrex pan. Sprinkle the top of the cake mixture with 2 T. sugar and 1/2 c. chopped walnuts. Add these nuts RIGHT before you put the cake in the oven or they will sink to the bottom.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until done when tested with a toothpick or skewer. This recipe can be halved and baked in an 8 inch cake pan.
