Ingredients

2 lbs. ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

2 qts. tomatoes

2 (15 1/2 oz.) cans kidney beans, drained (reserve liquid)

1 (8oz.) can tomato sauce

2 Tbsp. sugar

1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder

2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Brown ground beef and onion in large pot. Stir in tomatoes, reserved kidney bean liquid, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 1 hr and 15 minutes. Stir in beans. Simmer, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
