Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef

1 lg. onion, chopped (about 1 c.)

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 tbsp. chili powder

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. ground cumin

1 tsp. dried oregano leaves

1 tsp. cocoa

1/2 tsp. red pepper sauce

1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained

1 (15 1/2 oz.) can red kidney beans, undrained

Preparation

Cook and stir ground beef, onions and garlic in 3 quart saucepan until brown. Drain beef. Stir in remaining ingredients except beans. Break up tomatoes Heat to boiling, reduce heat. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally 1 hour. Stir in beans, bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered, stirring mixture occasionally until desired consistency, about 20 minutes.
