Ingredients

10 fresh thai red chiles, stemmed

9 large garkiccloves

1/2 redpepper chopped

1/3 cup ketchup

1.5 T sugar

1 tsp salted bean paste or red miso

1 tsp fresh lime juice

8 8-oz fresh blue crabs, rinsed and aprons removed (small piece of shell, a pointed flap)

2 scallions chopped

cilantro

Preparation

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in food processor and grind finely. Add ketchup sugar bean paste, juice. Place cabs in large bowl. top with 1/2 of chile mixture. Toss to combine. Set rest of chile mixture aside. refirgerate for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat gril lto med high. Remove crabs fro mmarinade and arrange shell side up on grill. grill 21 minutes or until shells turn red.Serve with remaining sauce, scallions and cilantro.
