Ingredients

6 T oil

5 lbs chicken pieces

1 C minced onion

3/4 C minced green pepper

4 cloves garlic minced

2 28 oz can whole tomatoes in puree

16 oz tomato sauce

1/2 cup dry red wine

3 3/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp allspice

2 bay leaves

1/2 tsp thyme

can of mushrooms drained

Preparation

Saute chicken in oil until well browned. Remove from pan. Brown onions, peppers, garlic till soft. Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered till chicken is tender and falling off the bone. Remove chicken skin, bay leaves and as many bones as possible before serving. Serve with pasta.
