Ingredients
1/2 cup margarine (stick)
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup light brown sugar
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 cups flour
3 cups oatmeal
1 8-oz.box chopped dates
1 cup pecans, toasted & chopped
Preparation
Cream sugars, margarine & shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs & beat an additional 2 minutes. Stir in flour, spices, salt & soda. Blend well. Mix in oatmeal. Stir in dates & pecans by hand. Drop generous teaspoonsful onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven 8 - 10 minutes or until very lightly browned.
