Ingredients

1 cup flour

1/2 t. salt

1 cup sugar

1 t. baking soda

2 cups canned tart cherries, drained, juice reserved

1/2 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup whipping cream

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350. Spray or grease an 8x8 baking pan. Drain cherries, reserving 1/2 cup of juice. Mix flour, salt, 1 cup of sugar, baking soda and cherry juice together in a medium bowl. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 50 minutes. When cake is done, prepare sauce by heating butter, 1 cup of sugar and whipping cream in a small saucepan. Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat. Drizzle lavishly over squares of cake.
